Satos is the term used in Puerto Rico to refer to stray dogs. There are so many stray dogs there that there is even a beach named Dead Dog Beach in honor of the abandoned puppies that died there. It is a sad reality in Puerto Rico.
The situation became even worse after Hurricanes Imma and Maria struck the Island, leaving many residents homeless and unable to care for their beloved pets.
However, there is hope for abandoned dogs and puppies due to the efforts of various volunteer groups. Local residents alert volunteers when they come across stray puppies or dogs. The volunteer groups would then transport the stray puppies or dogs to a foster home after receiving this information to ensure that the dogs get the care that they really need.
If a puppy or dog needs medical attention, the volunteers give it to them. The majority of rescued dogs eventually find their way to the United States where they will wait to get their forever homes.
Due to the puppies’ circumstances, the majority of them have had no prior human contact. As a result, the puppies develop a fear of humans. As a cure, a few foster families recruit volunteers to play with the puppies and acclimate them to human interaction.
Children are the ideal candidates to introduce pups to the human world. For starters, children enjoy playing because they are lively and full of energy. Who better to play with than similarly enthusiastic puppies? They are really a great combination and just watching them gives us happiness and energy as well.
Violet and Beckett who are actually siblings adore playing with the puppies. According to the children, they had a great time playing with the puppies because the animals are a good source of happiness and joy for them.
