Many pet owners whose dogs have been missing for a long time may eventually give up hope. This is natural, as no one wishes to maintain false hope. Despite this, some dog owners who wait long enough experience the return of their beloved canines, and these reunions are always tear-jerking!
Fisher, a Boston Terrier, went missing a few years ago. But Fisher’s owner, Elisa DeMaria Battista, never gave up because she knew they would meet again.
On July 4, 2020, Fisher was reported missing in Ocean City, Maryland. Elisa had since been searching for her dog. She started a Facebook page with almost 7,000 members. She also distributed flyers and posters throughout the city. Additionally, Elissa sought assistance from the authorities.
Despite the fact that none of her efforts appeared to bear fruit, she decided not to give up. And her decision to push on proved to be one of the best that she had ever made.
A Facebook follower finally reached out to Elissa, sending her a screenshot of a lost dog posted on another page. The expectant and excited owner confirmed that it was indeed Fisher.
Elisa wasted no time. She traveled five hours to Annapolis where the dog was seen to pick up Fisher. When she arrived at the meeting location, their wonderful reunion happened. It was even captured on a video.
A recording saw Elissa entering a room and inquiring about Fisher’s location. And upon finding Fisher, she bent down and gave him a huge hug. Elissa burst into tears because the dog immediately knew her. He wiggled with excitement before licking the face of his beloved owner.
People who saw the video expressed joy and optimism. One individual stated that the reunion moved him to tears. One individual remarked that the reunion had already made his year.
