Dog Working As A Detection Dog Gets The Best Surprise Ever Before He Retires

Dog Working As A Detection Dog Gets The Best Surprise Ever Before He Retires

Robert Billy December 27, 2023

Since dogs are highly trainable, the majority of airports use them to help out with some important tasks. Of course, these dogs have to first pass the required training and battery tests to become detection dogs.

As detection dogs, dogs at the airport are tasked with sniffing potential bombs that may be transported to foreign countries. TTirado, a canine detective, has served in this capacity. He has been doing the best that he can each day and has helped keep people safe many, many times.

The dog worked at the Indianapolis Airport, where he was partnered with Keith Gray, for over eight years. Gray is now the dog’s accomplice in the execution of his responsibilities. According to Gray, working with the canine was not challenging. This is due to the fact that the dog has a high intelligence quotient for the work he performs. Gray stated that the canine is competent, hence making the officer’s job easier.

The dog is not permitted to play with tennis balls since he works at the airport. Because he enjoys catching it, TTirado’s favorite toy is a tennis ball. Nonetheless, despite the prohibition on tennis ball activity, the dog would frequently receive this incentive for performing well.

This, according to Gray, is the administration’s method for keeping the dog motivated. The tennis ball would be the incentive if the dog performs his duties very well. Gray considers this to be evidence of TTirado’s professional success. Because he knows that tennis ball play is the incentive for good behavior, the dog is constantly motivated to improve.

Yet, just like other occupations, TTirado requires retirement. This is the reason why, after eight years of airport labor, TTirado finally said goodbye. As a sign of appreciation, the airport administration presented the dog with dozens of tennis balls for his retirement.

After more than 8 years of service @INDairport, @TSA explosive detection canine TTirado has officially retired. He was adopted by his handler Keith Gray and will spend retirement at home with his family. Check out this clip of his final bag search and reward! ❤️❤️❤️ pic.twitter.com/efRwPFrmDi
