Zella is a sweet puppy that enjoys playing a lot. She is just 16 weeks old and her behavior is quite understandable.
Their backyard is her preferred playground. If she really has the wonderful opportunity to play in the woods, she is even happier with that option.
Zella was out for a walk with her family one morning. The entire family was taken aback when the small puppy fell down a well.
Prior to the catastrophe, Zella was content to simply be outside. She was sprinting as she often did until she ran straight into a well and fell.
The good news was that the well had already dried up, leaving no water in which she could drown. Zella, however, dropped eight feet.
Her family wanted to assist her in escaping, but they were unable to reach her. The well was just too deep!
Zella’s family requested for assistance by dialing 911. They wished that Zella be secured and brought back up from the well.
The South Killingly Fire Department unit arrived quickly. The team has been properly trained to do rescues similar to the one that Zella requires.
Captain Joseph Lee is the department’s head, and he explained that their rescue squad is made up of firefighters from various places. They receive specific training, which includes rope rescue. Additionally, they were trained to rescue people who have become trapped in confined areas – just like this well.
Upon arriving, the crew assessed Zella’s position. They arranged the equipment necessary to assist one of their team members in descending that well. They were soon able to successfully lower a man into the well, where he was able to secure Zella. He then carried the poor dog in his arms while the team helped them back to the surface.
Zella is overjoyed to be reunited with her family. They also all appreciate the team’s prompt response.
