When you glance at Dennis the dog, you may just see him as one ordinary canine. But what many people don’t know is that he is not so ordinary as has greatly impacted his owner’s life. In fact, his friendship has helped his owner learn to appreciate and change his entire view of the world for the better.
It started when Drew, Dennis’ owner, visited the adoption center as he was actually eyeing a certain dog. But the pooch he wanted was taken home by another family. Although he was sad, his focus shifted to Dennis as he was taken by the weird sound of the dog’s barks.
The happy dog was constantly jumping and grunting in delight. When Drew noticed how quirky yet adorable the pup was, he fell in love and asked the shelter if he could take him home.
But there was one problem. Dennis was already reserved to be given to another family. Despite the odds, Drew still humbly begged the staff to let him take Dennis home even for a few days until the new family is going to pick him up. In this way, the dog wouldn’t need to wait in the shelter for days.
Drew’s family had disapproved of the idea, thinking that the young man would be heartbroken when the dog needed to leave. But he just ignored what they said and instead, focused on making each day with Dennis worthwhile.
Eventually, when it was time to give Dennis back, Drew pleaded with the adoption center to convince Dennis’ adopters to let him have the pooch instead. The adopters, after knowing how the pair’s beautiful friendship blossomed, decided to let Dennis go with Drew.
At present, the pair are now inseparable and are both living their life to the fullest.
As seen in the funny video below, we can totally agree with Drew that the pooch does sound similar to a seal and a pig rather than an actual dog. Dennis is quite a chatterbox, probably why Drew has been so hooked and fond of him in the first place.
