It’s hard to understand why someone would abandon an innocent dog in an enclosed area without a way to escape. That is what happened to a pit bull named Lexie. She was found inside a stolen bus, and police officers had to force open the vehicle to get her out.
After Lexie was rescued, the police officers announced they would euthanize her if no one wanted her. At that moment, a woman named Melissa and her husband volunteered to adopt the dog. Shortly after, the couple brought Lexie to their home to ensure she was taken care of.
Upon arriving at their home, Melissa gave Lexie a bath and made sure the dog was well-fed. During the first few days of having Lexie, Melissa was focused on making the dog feel at home. Lexie was spoiled with all the food she could eat and all the toys she could play with. Melissa believed that Lexie deserved to be pampered like that after experiencing such a horrible situation that could have ended badly.
Melissa owns another dog named Roadie. She worried Roadie wouldn’t take a liking to the new dog she brought home. Fortunately, when Roadie and Lexie saw each other, there was no friction. The two dogs acted like long-lost sisters.
Several people knew about Lexie’s story because Melissa has a TikTok account with a sizeable follower count. She often posts updates about Lexie and Roadie there. Sometimes, Melissa’s TikTok followers would send gifts consisting of toys and other items that would benefit Lexie.
Lexie has grown quite attached to Melissa ever since the woman adopted her. The dog would always seek out Melissa in the house and make sure they were close together. The woman believes that it is Lexie’s way of showing gratitude for taking care of her.
