Lily roamed the streets of a small town in Romania where she lived. Every day, she followed people in the hopes that someone would notice and help her. Despite the dangers that surrounded her, she didn’t stop. She was so eager to live a better life.
Soon enough rescuers from Howl of A Dog learned about Lily and they knew right away they had to help her. They gathered all of the data they needed, and once they determined where to find her, they wasted no time. They hopped into their rescue car and rushed to save her.
On-site, the rescuers found Lily doing what she always did. They lured her into a safer area and one of them quickly went to work and offered her some treats. They waited until she was at ease having them around and assured her they were only there to help.
The rescuer took all her time until she was certain that she has the dog’s full trust. Once she did, she looped a leash on her and then carried her into the car. And from the rescue site, the responders drove the dog straight to the animal clinic for urgent medical care.
Lily was so happy to finally leave the streets. Throughout their ride, she sat on her rescuer’s lap and looked outside the window as if she was saying goodbye to everything in that place. She knew it was the start of something new in her life.
At the vet’s clinic, the dog underwent a few tests including a blood exam. The doctors wanted to see if she had any diseases and thankfully, the results came out relatively good. She, however, needed treatment against ticks and fleas, and later on, went home with a prescription for supplements and vitamins to help boost her immune system.
Lily stayed with her rescue friends at Howl of A dog for about three months. Under their care, she thrived and discovered a lot of new things. She became a happy, healthy, friendly, and life-loving dog, and for that, her rescuers knew she was ready for a new home.
From the streets of Romania, Lily flew to her new home in Germany, where her adoptive family waited. There, she started a new life with her new mom and dad, and her new brother and best friend Mambo. Her happy ending has started with them.
