Midnight, a black labrador from Alexandria, Minnesota, likes to go for a ride with her owner, Tim Curfman. On a Monday morning, instead of Midnightbothering Tim to go to the car, she seemed perked up and wanted him to follow her. At that time, Tim suspected something was up.
Dogs are sensitive animals. Service dogs are trained dogs that use their excellent sniffing abilities to detect health problems in humans like low blood sugar, seizures, and migraine, depending on what they are taught. Midnight, however, proves that she doesn’t have to undergo training to save the day.
Tim was taking their garbage outside their house when Midnight rushed towards him like there was something wrong. He and Midnight went to a spot and found his old neighbor lying. Tim’s old neighbor, Noreen, was lying outside their house with a temperature of one below. He immediately pulled her, and they went inside her house to warm her.
The old neighbor was feeding the birds when she fell. She couldn’t pull herself up because her gloves had gotten wet, and her hands were frozen. There was also nothing that she could grab in the garage at that time, so she remained lying in the snow. She would’ve been lying in that cold snow for hours if it had not been for Midnight.
Midnight was credited with saving Noreen’s life. Tim was so grateful and proud to have Midnight as his dog. No one knows what would’ve happened if they weren’t around that day. Noreen was shy and didn’t want to be interviewed, but she confirmed that Midnight saved her in the nick of time.
Midnight was not just a man’s best friend – he also is a neighbor’s best friend. Here’s Tim’s interview with CBS.
