The New York Bully Crew (NYBC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue of Pitbulls and is led by Craig Fields. Dogs they help are rehabilitated and placed in loving homes. They also educate individuals and raise awareness about the issues that the breed is now facing.
From East to West, the NYBC saves dogs in need. They also have international partners who assist them in furthering their mission.
Donnatello is one of the many canines that the rescue team has assisted. The dog was discovered in an abandoned house’s basement. A bank employee called NYBC to report about the aggressive dog.
It turned out that the house was once owned by Donatello’s previous family. They were, unfortunately, evicted. They also decided to leave the poor dog behind when they were moving out.
It’s been ten days since the family left, and no one knew for sure if Donatello ate or drank anything. To save the dog, NYBC rushed to the location.
As soon as the rescuers arrived, the dog began barking and growling. The basement door was shut, and rescuers had no idea whether the dog was loose or not. They took precautions as they entered, and once inside, they discovered Donatello.
The dog continued to howl and growl, but he was nearly cringing in terror, attempting to hide in the smallest space he could find.
The rescuers were able to attach a leash around his neck. They then escorted him from the house to their vehicle.
Donatello appeared to have been replaced by a completely different dog before they arrived at NYBC’s rescue center. He became composed and confident. He even took a bath afterward.
The dog was ready to be with his new family in about a month. And he turned out to be a colossal marshmallow.
Donnatello now goes on walks with his new canine sibling, relaxes on the couch, and sleeps as much as he wants. He also enjoys cuddling with his new father. He smothers him in moist kisses whenever he gets the chance.
