A community in Texas raised $38,000 to have Vinny, a specially trained service dog, for a 16-year-old girl named Kayley, who suffers from nocturnal seizures. When Kayley and Vinny met for the first time, the dog went right up to Kayley and jumped onto her lap. The two were inseparable after that.
When Kayley has a seizure, her dog Vinny alerts her parents by pushing a button that triggers an alarm. Once they hear it, they can check on Kayley and make sure she is all right. Now that Kayley’s parents have Vinny to alert them, they can finally have some peace of mind during the night.
Kayley’s mom said that the dog is a lifesaver, not just for her daughter but for the whole family. Service dogs are very useful and helpful for people with disabilities. They help them live a more normal life by doing things like opening doors, turning on lights, pulling wheelchairs, etc.
These dogs will also protect a person from hurting themselves during a seizure. Service dogs can also help individuals with mental disabilities like autism, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression. A service dog can also do many different things for its owner.
They could protect their owners from danger when needed. Service dogs are also obedient, friendly, and calm in public places. This means they will never be aggressive and won’t harm other people. These dogs also provide companionship and comfort to a person with a disability, especially when that person needs it most.
The best thing about having a service dog is that they can help you do things on your own without having to ask someone else for help. There are many different kinds of service animals that can help people with different conditions and disabilities. You may have to research different breeds before deciding on one that will work best for your needs.
