Foremost was a German shepherd, a puppy who spent his younger days in an animal shelter in Delaware. Last January, US President-Elect Joe Biden decided to change the life of these dogs. Central and Champ, another German shepherd, are set to move into a presidential suite at the White House.
President Biden, known for his compassion and care for his fellow citizens, never hesitated to show the same with Major. He believes that moving Major to the White House will bring joy to many Americans as it will signify hope for homeless dogs and other pets.
The former president of the United States, Donald Trump, was the first president since James Polk in 1840 to not have a pet in the White House. Ashley, Bidens’ daughter, saw a post about puppies in Delaware and immediately told her parents to get one for Champ as his pal and fur buddy. They agreed to foster Major, and after eight months together, they made it official and adopted him.
The Bidens are very happy and grateful to the Delaware Humane Association for their never-ending and countless efforts to find homes for pets like Major.
A recent survey in 2019 found that 89% responded that they would consider adopting rather than buying their pet.
There is no doubt that President Biden knows that adopting Major will undoubtedly strike the heart of many Americans
who wish to have a pet, not looking to purchase one for them but to look for a rescue dog in a shelter like Delaware and will soon adopt them like what President Biden did.
Delaware Human Association just set as proof and a statement of hope for rescue dogs with continuing changes in perception towards these four-legged buddies.
