We all know cats have nine lives and land on their feet nearly every time. But what about this lucky Shih Tzu from Brazil?
One afternoon, as he walked the streets of Ribeirao Preto, Augusto heard the dog barking from an unknown direction. He looked around and saw a helpless dog trapped on a ninth-floor balcony. He ran to the building to help and rescue him.
The caretaker of the building spotted Augusto running. He opened the gate to see what it was all about. Augusto explained that he saw a dog on the ninth-floor terrace of an apartment and that they had to save a little dog.
Augusto went with the supervisor and showed the terrace on the ninth floor. The caretaker of the building climbed into the apartment. He tried to look for homeowners or anyone who could help save the dog. Unfortunately, he found no one. The barking puppy was still in danger.
While the supervisor was in the building, Augusto tried to find a sheet or blanket to catch the dog, but there was no time for such a thing. Then he stopped right under the balcony in case the dog jumped. Luckily for the dog, he was in the right place at the right time.
The dog jumped from a height of 100 feet. Augusto failed to capture him fully but slipped through his hands, but that was enough to depreciate and slow the fall. The dog did not injure himself but ran in an unknown direction. Shih Tzu showed no appreciation for Augusto’s selfless and heroic act.
Most importantly, this story has a happy ending for which Augusto and his coincidental partner, the construction superintendent, deserve credit.
