Dog Trainer Saves Five-Month-Old Pup From Euthanasia And Turns Her Into A TV Star

Dog Trainer Saves Five-Month-Old Pup From Euthanasia And Turns Her Into A TV Star

Pepsi was a puppy who was abandoned in the snow and later taken to a local shelter in Leavenworth, Kansas. Unfortunately, the facility was overcrowded at that time, and no one was adopting or fostering the dogs they had under their care. Their solution was to put the dogs to sleep. At just five months old, the poor pup was at risk of euthanasia.

The young dog was heartworm positive, and the shelter had few resources to provide medical treatments. Her condition will just worsen, so she was made a candidate for their kill list. Fortunately for Pepsi, a kind woman came in and rescued her.

Similarities

An experienced animal trainer, Melissa Millett, saw Pepsi in the Kansas shelter and noticed her uncanny resemblance to a comic book character’s pet. She had gone to a few shelters scouting for a canine to play the role of Krypto, Superboy’s dog. At that time, the TV show “Titans” was in production.

Melissa is known for training animals to be used in movies and shows. Pepsi was perfect for the role she was preparing for, so she quickly adopted the young pooch. She started the pup’s training right away. It wasn’t easy at the start because the canine had a tragic past and didn’t trust her new owner.

Famous

Eventually, Pepsi got rid of her fears and played her role brilliantly. She would run, bark, or stand still when told to. With the magic of special effects, she displayed her superpowers, such as lasers coming out of her eyes, shockwaves when she barks, and she could even fly. Soon, she had her own fans rooting for her.

Pepsi was fortunate she was rescued. Instead of dying, she became a TV star. Melissa hopes that with this huge exposure, more people will be encouraged to adopt shelter dogs. They have a lot of love and talent to offer as well. All it needs is some patience and persistence to train them.
