Trenton Animals Rock, an animal shelter, posted on Facebook regarding a Shar-Pei/Chow Chow mix named Wes. According to the post, the pooch felt scared and would shiver inside his kennel the whole day.
One of the people who saw the shelter’s post was Alyssa DeLuca. She noticed the dog’s smile in the photo and realized that the pooch looked similar to Arthur, the dog of her boyfriend, Zack.
DeLuca showed the Facebook post to her boyfriend, who couldn’t believe the two dogs’ similarities. Zack read the post description and suggested that they save the dog.
At first, the couple didn’t plan on getting a second pooch. However, after seeing the post about Wes and how he and Arthur looked alike, they realized they had to adopt him.
Not even an hour later, the couple contacted the shelter regarding fostering and eventually adopting Wes. After three hours, they were already at the shelter to meet Wes.
Upon meeting him, DeLuca and her boyfriend knew Wes couldn’t be in the shelter any longer. They realized he needed to be in a home and not be scared anymore. Thus, they brought the pooch after their first meeting.
Upon arriving in his new home, Wes seemed nervous. However, he quickly realized that he could trust them. Soon, Wes and Arthur became the best of friends. Despite their different personalities, the two dogs go along well.
Wes’s new fur parent got him a DNA test kit to confirm his breed. And for health reasons, they got one for Arthur as well. They didn’t expect to learn anything surprising, so they were shocked upon receiving the results. As it turned out, Arthur and Wes are brothers.
Despite their shock, the fur parents realized that the two dogs’ similar looks and mannerisms now made sense. Aside from rescuing Wes, the couple reunited him with his brother. Now, the two dogs have become close and get to live together.
