At least 65,000 residents are residing in Pulaski County in Kentucky. But one of these 65,000 residents is an exceptionally kind kid.
Jacob Maggard might be young, but his kindness and compassion to animals, including dogs, is remarkable.
Cheryl Sears, one of Jacob’s neighbors, died last May. Instead of flowers, Cheryl’s family asked for donations for the Pulaski County Animal Shelter. They did this because Kim, Cheryl’s daughter, works as an assistant director there.
This inspired Jacob to do the same thing. Not too long, the kid also showed kindness and compassion. For his birthday this year, the young boy did not ask for presents for himself. Instead, he asked for birthday gifts that he could donate to the shelter.
Jacob’s mom, Lisa, was very supportive of her son’s decision. Although at first she was shocked, Lisa felt proud of her son. This is because while her son is still young, the boy is already making an impact in society.
Before asking for presents, Jacob made a wish list of the gifts he wanted to donate to the shelter. Included in the list are treats, animal supplies, and toys.
The young boy’s wishes did not fall on deaf ears as supplies started to arrive faster than they expected. According to Lisa, some of the donations came from anonymous donors and were delivered directly to their place.
With the outpouring of support, Jacob felt happy because his initiative yielded good results. As soon as they received all the donations, Jacob and his mom then visited the shelter. They turned over all the things they received to the shelter because Jacob wants to make the animals there happy.
For their part, the volunteers and staff of the animal shelter thanked the young boy for his good heart. They hope that many people will take a page or two to Jacob’s kindness book.
