A dog named Jeomsoon, who once lived with her family, suddenly found herself alone in their old dilapidated house. She stayed even after her owner left her. And every day, she hoped that she’d find him once again.
The dog’s loyalty kept her believing that her owner would come back for her. But it had been two years since she started living on her own and yet, she saw no sign of her owner. But despite it all, she continued to wait for him.
Eventually, concerned neighbors could no longer watch the dog suffer. They contacted members of the local animal welfare organization and asked them to come and help the dog. And without hesitations, the rescuers agreed to lend their hands.
On-site, the rescuers spoke with a few neighbors and learned that the elderly woman who lived next door was the one who fed the dog. They paid her a visit and she told them that she looked after the pup out of pity. She also recommended that they visit her owner because he only moved out of the village but was still in the same district.
After searching for a short while, the rescuers located the man who owned the dog. He admitted he didn’t bring Jeomsoon with him when they moved out but he also said he didn’t abandon her. He even bragged that he visited her about a month ago and gave her a thick blanket for her to use during the cold days.
The rescuer tried to reason out with him but his stand was firm. To him, he didn’t abandon his dog and there’s no reason for the pup to go to another family. She belonged with him and she wasn’t going anywhere.
The following day, the rescuers met with the man again. But this time, they brought Jeomsoon with them. They wanted to see how the dog would react, and their hearts broke when they saw how excited she was to see him. Despite everything, she still loved him.
The man, however, wasn’t pleased to see the dog. He commanded her to stop following him. He just went right on his way and left the dog grief-stricken.
After seeing how the man treated the dog, the rescuers spoke back with him. They didn’t ask for his permission but told him that they’d be taking the pup, and he did not even respond.
Jeomsoon went to the vet’s office for medical care. And once she left, she continued to her new home.
