When it comes to dog rescue stories, it’s often the rescuer who comes to get the dog. However, in some unique cases, the dogs are the ones who find their way into their rescuer’s life. This can actually happen due to a combination of luck and sheer determination on the dog’s part.
The dog called Moxie might have one of the most unique rescue stories out there. She got rescued because she relentlessly chased a car. That car’s driver was a woman named Martina, who later became Moxie’s owner.
Martina was a bit worried when she first met Moxie. This is because she has no experience owning a dog. All her current pets at the time of meeting Moxie were cats. She didn’t know if a dog would get along with her rescued cats.
Fortunately, Moxie loved the cats even during their initial meeting. However, the cats didn’t return her enthusiasm. They only began to tolerate her when they started going on walks with her.
Martina tried to look for anyone who might have lost Moxie. It was hard to find out if the dog had an owner because there was no microchip. After a week of asking around, no one claimed to have lost Moxie. Eventually, Martina decided to keep the dog since she already had a few pets living in her van.
Martina leads a very adventurous lifestyle. She loves traveling and going on hikes, which is something that Moxie enjoyed as well. Whenever Moxie was out on a stroll, her enthusiasm would go through the roof.
Ever since she started living with cats, Moxie’s personality has become very cat-like. Martina believes that Moxie is convinced that she is a cat. It came to the point where Moxie would be more excited to see cats than dogs.
Martina often thought about what could have happened if she didn’t stop her car to pick up Moxie. She might not have enjoyed the feeling of saving a life if she hadn’t done so. Fortunately, she made the right choice, and Moxie is now living her best life because of it.
