A pitbull is a great companion because they’re inherently friendly. Russ, a stray pitbull, is true to his nature as he loves to play around and cuddle. His object of affection is his new mom, Kayla Filoon. Kayla adopted Russ and gave him a new home. As the dog’s newfound parent, Kayla knew she made the right decision to take Russ home.
Kayla is a volunteer at a dog shelter in Philly. She usually takes the shelter dogs out for a walk. One day, Russ came down to the shelter, and Kayla felt a strong connection at that very moment. This prompted her to adopt him.
Russ was not in his best state when he arrived at the shelter. He was underweight. He also had missing fur patches and some bruises. He was also suffering from kennel cough.
Kayla repeatedly took him out for a walk. As they spent more time together, she was surprised to discover how disciplined Russ was. He doesn’t bark at the other dogs and listens attentively to Kayla. Russ was also not ashamed to show his affectionate side to her.
She knew the shelter had space issues, so Kayla immediately processed the adoption papers. Thankfully, in less than two weeks, Kayla could bring Russ home.
Russ adjusted well to his new place. After two weeks, Kayla realized that he was a gentle love bug — he liked to be around Kayla all the time. He is also very comfortable laying his head under her arm or placing his paws on her chest.
Russ always finds a way to cuddle with Kayla even if he sees her busy with work. He would subtly place his little arms around her and lay his head on her shoulder. Indeed, Russ found a new home in Kayla.
