A few months back, Russell Jones got into an accident and broke his ankle. His family and friends were all sympathetic. But Billy, his dog, was perhaps the one who showed the most sympathy.
Billy, a lurcher, spends most of his time playing and running around. But the very moment he noticed his dad had a cast on his legs, he began to act differently, and it made his family worried.
The dog started to walk with a limp, but none of his family members could think of a reason how or when he could have hurt his foot. Concerned that something was seriously wrong, Russell and his wife Michelle took the dog to the vet for an examination.
The vet performed a few tests and an X-ray to identify what could be wrong. To everyone’s surprise, all the test results came back ok. Even the X-ray showed no broken bones or torn ligaments that could cause the dog to limp.
Puzzled, Russell and Michelle brought Billy back home. They knew the vet did what he could, but they still couldn’t fathom why their dog walked with a limp. And things got even more suspicious later that afternoon.
Billy, excited and happy as he always was, started walking and running around their house. He goofed around as nothing hurt. He was just his normal self.
Michelle, mystified by what was happening, kept an eye on their dog. She wanted to discover what caused Billy’s limp. And one day, while Russell wasn’t around, she noticed their dog walked perfectly fine.
As it turned out, Billy was so empathetic that whenever he’s with dad, he walked with a limp like him. Nothing was wrong with his foot, he just loved dad so much. And while it cost his parents £300 in vet bills, Russell and Michelle both agreed it’s worth the love they have for their dog.
