Oklahoma is visited by vicious storms and deadly tornadoes, especially during spring. This weather pattern dramatically influences the lives of families in the Tornado Alley region, including Amy Collins.
The memories of a tragic event seven years ago still haunt her as that year became one of the most eventful years of her life.
During that same year, Amy bore her twin girls, Emerson and Preslee, and their beloved Dalmatian dog, Harley, gave birth to twelve cute pups. One of the twelve puppies exhibited unique ear markings, so they named her Muffie.
She stood out from the rest of the litter as her ears showcased full solid brown hues, as if wearing earmuffs, hence her name. The Dalmatian breed usually appears all white, and the spots will appear later.
They gave away the rest of the other eleven puppies, but they decided to keep Muffie for their children. They thought about them growing up together and playing along as the years passed.
However, something unexpected happened, and they lost both Harley and Muffie while they played outside when a tornado ravaged them. Amy tried to call for their missing animals while the strong winds blew like a whip. They waited for them to return the next day after the disturbance, but the two animals never returned.
The strong tornado left a swathe of destroyed properties down its path. Amy checked for the nearest animal shelters around their area and saw the brimming number of displaced animals, but still no Harley or Muffie. They searched for the next few days but never found the two dogs.
After six months, the family soon moved into a new residence 15 miles away. They never really moved on from the pain of losing both dogs during that spring. Six years passed fast, and the family suddenly received news that excited them.
Amy’s mother saw a familiar photo on an animal shelter website and asked her to check it out. Amy initially felt reluctant but eventually saw that her mom felt excited about it. To her surprise, a familiar canine appeared, almost like her beloved lost Muffie.
Amy decided to visit the site immediately and picked up the dog. The animal knew her scent and barked happily after seeing her. After six long years, the family felt very joyous, and they finally reunited with their lost family member.
